BOSTON, MA — (August 28, 2019) — The Bill Belichick Foundation in partnership with The Moses Brown School has made a $5,200 donation to the Providence Youth Lacrosse League. The Bill Belichick Foundation once again teamed up with Providence, Rhode Island’s, Moses Brown School’s Boys and Girls Lacrosse teams last spring to participate in its annual Grounders for the Game campaign. The program asks community members to pledge a fixed monetary donation for each ground ball scooped up during the season. After the final game of the season last spring, the funds were tallied up, then matched by the BBF, and have been donated to the Providence Youth Lacrosse League (PYLL).
The PYLL promotes sportsmanship and athletic achievement to the highest level each individual can achieve in a manner that honors the game of lacrosse. This includes, but is not limited to, development of individual and team skills necessary for play, teaching the rules of the game, and developing self respect, respect for fellow players, officials, and respect for the traditions of the game. PYLL is a member of the Rhode Island Chapter of US Lacrosse with a goal to develop and promote the game of lacrosse in the city and towns of Providence, Pawtucket, East Providence, Seekonk, and Rehoboth. The Bill Belichick Foundation is proud to support Providence Youth Lacrosse League in its mission to grow the sport of lacrosse in the Providence area.
