At the 3rd Annual Cradle for a Cause (C4AC) lacrosse tournament held in Winchester, Ma. last month, The Maine Lobstermen, formed by Amherst College alumnus and C4AC Board Member Nigel Carr, earned second place donating their winnings of $1,000 to the Bill Belichick Foundation in its mission to support lacrosse communities in need of financial assistance.
The Cradle for a Cause charity lacrosse event was developed to bring like-minded people together and help raise awareness and needed funds for local and national non-profits and charitable organizations. “By using the game of lacrosse as a tool to accomplish bigger things and more pressing issues, we believe that C4AC is a great experience for all participants regardless of each team’s final record,” said Carr.
Since its founding in 2012, C4AC has grown from 9 teams to 16 teams in two divisions and has raised over $25,000 in donations to date. The Bill Belichick Foundation was honored to be recognized as one of this year’s beneficiaries along with other well respected organizations such as Wounded Warrior Project, Feeding America, Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and many more.
